Simple Pastoral Beauty
Early, pre-urban scene of a simple dirt road in a de-forested pastoral landscape. As the unofficial Anthropocene moved along, roads progressed from footpath to trail, cart path, road, highway and interstate. At each step, they were enlarged and upgraded with progressively more modern, imported material, from gravel to macadam, asphalt and concrete.
