The Benton Museum recognizes the diverse needs of the public utilizing the museum, and we offer a variety of services to ensure the accessibility of the museum and its collection.
All public areas of the Museum are wheelchair accessible. The front entrance features one power-assist door and all three of the main galleries are wheelchair-accessible via elevator. Manual and motorized wheelchairs are permitted.
One wheelchair is available at the Museum for visitors and can be requested at the Visitor Services Desk. The museum has three parking spaces in a lot directly adjacent to the museum and is available during open hours. Please stop at the Visitor Services desk and ask for a parking permit upon your arrival.
Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are located between the Visitor Services Desk and the elevator.
Sight Impaired: The museum offers large-print text copies of the exhibition labels available upon request at the Visitor Services Desk.
Hearing Impaired: Some events may have an ASL interpreter and will be listed on our events calendar. If you require an interpreter please call at least five days in advance to the University’s accessibility department at 860-553-3242 (video) or 860-486-8120 (voice) to arrange for an ASL interpreter.
