Curated by Françoise Dussart, Professor of Anthropology, University of Connecticut and the students enrolled in Anthropological Perspectives on Art in Fall 2022. This exhibition will showcase a selection of works of arts held by the William Benton Museum of Art addressing the following questions: What does it mean to be an insider or an outsider? What does it mean to be in place and out of place, both, in between, or neither? The themes explored among others will be identity, social inclusion/exclusion, ambiguous nature of belonging, agency, displacement.
