Part of a series of permanent collection gallery rotations, the exhibition features work in a variety of media such as paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, posters, ceramics, textiles, video, and mixed media assemblages. Spanning the 18th century to the present, the show highlights the work of more than 45 women-identified artists, designers, and collectives, including Angelica Kauffmann, Adelaide Alsop Robineau, Käthe Kollwitz, Ellen Emmet Rand, Jane Peterson, Gabriele Münter, Marguerite Steuber Pearson, Nell Blaine, Liz Whitney Quizgard, Phyllis Agne, Graciela Iturbide, Ursula von Rydingsvard, Ana Mendieta, Myrlande Constant, Valerie Hegarty, and Vibha Galhotra, among many others.  Celebrating Art by Women recognizes the achievements of a diverse set of artists while providing visitors opportunities to reflect on equity and inclusion on the UConn campus, in the art world, and beyond.
