Summer Fun at the Museum

Visit the Benton Museum this summer and take advantage of all the FREE family activities.

Take time to read one of our themed picture books in the atrium and learn more about the themes being explored in the current exhibitions.

  • Encounters with the Collection: Exploring America at 250: Do a scavenger hunt, a Detail Detective I spy matching game, and a Think about it... Talk about it sketching activity.
  • Raid the Archive: New Eyes on Horsebarn Hill: Participate in a Think about it… Talk about it writing prompt.
  • Birds Up Close: Connecticut State Museum of Natural History: Have fun with a Children’s Learning Lab with bird themed books and flashcards, a feather matching game, and an egg matching game.

Stop by today to join in the fun!

After visiting the museum, make a day out of visiting UConn's Beautiful Campus.

  • Pack a picnic and eat at the many outdoor spaces
  • Visit the animals at Horsebarn Hill
  • Bring bicycles (the sidewalks around campus are perfect for small bicycle riders)
  • Grab an ice cream from the UConn Dairy Bar
  • Stroll the campus and immerse yourself in the outdoor Art Walk or Tree Walk
  • Visit the Ballard Puppetry Museum
